We accomplish much throughout the span of our lives, but sometimes our accomplishments are not enough to make us feelgood about ourselves. It is better to learn early the art of overcoming low self esteem rather than wait until we feel too lost to conquer it. If treated right, it can be an ongoing process. A road we travel on every day of our lives, making more and more progress as we take life one step at a time.
Overcoming low self esteem requires you to consciously make some decisions and it means you cannot hide behind a facade. You have to get real with the world and get real with yourself. Think about someone you look up to. What is it about that person that makes them stand out in your eyes!
Even the most admired person in the world struggles at one time or another with feeling positive about themselves. Much too often people try to feel better about who they are by focusing on what they can do. A person with low self esteem will attempt to define themselves by a special talentor ability. In the process of overcoming low self esteem, turn your focus to someone else.
Who a person really is is found on the inside and not the outside. It is not in what
you can do or how you look, but what you do for others. This is what makes you feel worthy.
The next point goes along with that, do not compare yourself to others. There is only one you. You are an original, unique masterpiece. At some point in your life, someone has saidthey want to be just like you. This might surprise you, but it's true. Most people do not like who they are so they dream about being like another person. At some point, they too, will begin the process of overcoming low self esteem!
Do not compare yourself to anyone but you. Set your goals and when you reach them, then you can compare who you were before, to who you have become by reaching a certain goal.
Others may notice your accomplishments and compliment you. Say thank you
and move on, and continue on with a new goal.
